Investigation and research

We conduct investigations and analyses, compile research and communicate evidence-based knowledge in collaboration with the higher education sector.

We execute analysis and investigation assignments and also initiate our own research projects in order to contribute to the accumulation of knowledge that promotes sustainable conditions for research and education.

Gender and research funding, sexual harassment in study and work environments, peer review and expert assessment, career development and recruitment, and hate speech and threats against researchers are all examples of themes that we work with.

Our employed researchers and investigators carry out analyses and investigations and provide knowledge support to our clients. We also collaborate in projects with individual external researchers from various universities, within Sweden and abroad.

A selection of current assignments and projects:

Sustainable energy systems

We produced the report Genus och jämställdhet på energiområdet (Gender and Gender Equality in the Energy Field) for the Swedish Energy Agency. The integration of the gender dimension in energy research and gender equality in research and education related to energy matters are the main themes of the report. This assignment will be concluded during 2019.

Sexual harassment in academia

Through its advisory Standing Working Group on Gender in Research and Innovation (ERAC SWG GRI), the European Commission has tasked the Swedish Research Council, in collaboration with the Secretariat, to coordinate and be responsible for the content of a survey of national measures and strategies to counteract gender-based vulnerability within academia in Europe.

For the Swedish Council for Higher Education, we have produced a review of research on the prevention of sexual harassment: Förebyggande arbete mot sexuella trakasserier inom akademin - en internationell forskningsöversikt.

On behalf of the Swedish Research Council, we have produced the report Sexual harassment in academia – an international research review. It is the first comprehensive research review of sexual harassment in academia of its kind internationally.
